Read the three research papers listed in this assignment. Write a 3-page analysis paper answering each of the questions below. Grades will be evaluated based on the attached rubric.
When it comes to clinical research, what is considered the highest level of research methodology? Why is it the highest? Do these papers satisfy that high level of methodology?
How were the participants in each study sampled? How many participants were in each study? Why is the sample method of a clinical research project important?
What does it mean when a research project has statistical power? Do these papers have it?
Give a brief summary of the affiliations for the authors of each paper. How many authors did each paper have? Do you feel that the authors for each paper are experts in their field? Why or why not?
What form of statistical analyses were used for each paper? Are the results statistically significant? Explain the impact if they are or are not statistically significant.
Review the protocol for each paper (listed as supplements at the below links). Do you feel these protocols are acceptable? Why or why not?
What is the difference between FDA phase 1, phase 2, and phase 3 clinical trials? Which phases are these papers? What is the difference between the timeline of these phases in these papers as compared to timeline of phases for previous clinical trials for the FDA?
What is the process to submit a paper and then ultimately get it accepted by the New England Journal of Medicine? How does the peer-review process work? What is the rejection rate for this paper as well as its history and overall effect on western medicine since its creation in 1811?
Explain how questions 1-8 have an effect on all research in EMS.
Please cite all of your sources. Paper must be in APA or MLA format. This paper must meet these APA or MLA format guidelines or the paper will be rejected in full. Grammar will count towards the overall grade. When submitting you must use Turnitin via canvas to run a citation report. No more than 10% of this paper may come from citations.

This assignment includes an in-class presentation limited to 8-10 minutes with 5 minutes for Q&A. You may use the whiteboard, handouts, audio/visual, etc.
