Your plan should follow the Business Plan Outline in your textbook but
please make sure each thoroughly describes the following: (1) mission, vision and culture (2) opportunity analysis and research (3) marketing plan (4) management and operations (5) projected financial statements including sources and uses of funds at start-up, annual income statements for years 1-5, a cash budget, breakeven analysis, and detailed notes explaining how you came up with the numbers, (7) critical risks and contingency plans, and (8) any other information pertinent to the evaluation of the proposed business. Business plans, which will usually range in length from 20-30 pages including financials and appendices, will be graded on their comprehensiveness, persuasiveness, content, organization, and writing style. Several potential organizational formats for business plans are possible. However, to obtain full benefit from the text and class discussions you are to use the format provided in the textbook and inclusive of the information described above, making reasonable alterations to fit the unique aspects of your venture. Business plans should cover all topic areas noted above. In addition, all business plans should include an executive summary.
