DESIGN Step 1
Choose an individual (real or fake) that you would like to use as an example client to develop a behavioral goal and intervention for this client. Choose wisely as you can continue to work on this same individual/goal for the remainder of the module as we walk through the 6 DESIGN steps. In this week’s discussion, it will be important to give peer feedback on the goal and determinant choices. I will also provide feedback so you can move forward next week building on this week.
Main post should focus on:
A) (2 points) describe your client (you may choose any individual real or fake) (list key demographic information)
B) (2 points) state at least 3 or more detailed questions (part of needs assessment) you might ask your client to learn more about key outcomes, behavioral goals and determinants that could be important and effective for your client (feel free to incorporate a Motivational Interviewing style if you would like)
C) (2 points) describe at least one health outcome your client would like to achieve
D) (2 points) list a potential shot-term goal behavior for your client (be sure to state it as a clear behavioral statement)
E) (2 points) describe the considerations for choosing it as a focus of a behavior change intervention (i.e., how specific, important, feasible, desirable, modifiable and measurable or how SMART it is)
F) (2 points) describe at least 2 motivating determinants for the behavior goal above
G) (2 points) describe at least 2 facilitating determinants for the behavior goal above
