The US healthcare and public health systems have come under considerable scrutiny in the past several years. The US spends more on healthcare than any other country, yet lags in many health outcomes. In this assignment, you’ll review the organization, structure, and function of the US healthcare and public health systems, including the major regulatory policies that impact how these systems work. Use resources from the class readings/materials and beyond. Then, using the website below from the Commonwealth Fund, you’ll similarly review the overall healthcare structure of another country. Finally, you’ll compare and contrast the two systems and reflect on the performance of the systems in terms of health outcomes. The paper is worth 200 points.

Additional US Health System Information: Health Insurance and Access
In 2019, about 9.2% of the estimated U.S. population of 323 million people was uninsured. Many Americans have private health insurance or receive health care services under a federal program (such as Medicare or Medicaid).
Health insurance concepts are a major component of the US health system and have major implications for the delivery of and access to health care services.

Review the organization, structure, and function of the healthcare and public health systems in another country. You can use the Commonwealth Fund website linked above as a resource, or you may use other resources if you choose a country not included in their review.
Compare and contrast the two systems in terms of structure and function, and compare health outcome differences for at least four areas (e.g., infant mortality, cancer mortality, diabetes rates, etc.).
Reflect on your comparison. What are positive and negative attributes of the two systems? What two changes would you make in the US systems based on what you’ve learned, and what would need to happen for those changes to be implemented?
