Data architecture in an organization includes: transactional databases and data
warehouses. In today’s world data warehouses are key to bringing relevant data together
to facilitate wise decision making in business. However, there is a cost associated with BI
and Data Analytics and where the cost cannot be justified, there is waste. Many
organizations are continuously re-evaluating their business processes, data needs, and
technical architectures to improve (become leaner) and save money and effort.
Conduct some research and select two organizations that have undergone a transformation
within the data architecture level. The most challenging aspect of this assignment is
finding organizations and articles to fit the requirement. Ensure you try many different
search terms and even pull terms from the text. Keep in mind that just data transformation
may not provide a lot of results, but more granular terms might (Hint: database migration).
In a 3–5-page paper, integrate the concepts within the chapters and supplemental
materials with the current state and the improvement these organizations made.
