Read the attached to this week’s reading by Lambert, titled “Sea Powers,” and respond to the following questions:
What was the basis for the hegemonic development of Venice and its maritime supremacy in the Mediterranean, based on Lambert’s analysis? How different was the Venetian path from that of Genoa or Barcelona in terms of its quick accession to become a regional power? Can you point to some solid examples from the text to support your narrative? Use only Lambert’s chapter for this assignment.
