The first assignment is an opportunity to engage in a critical discussion with the key concepts and theoretical frameworks found in Weeks 1 to 6. Your task is to select some keywords, concepts, and themes and analyze the arguments and dilemmas that are presented, in a short essay (1200 words). You are expected to explore the insights offered in the course materials and to assess the strengths and/or limitations of the arguments. Your essay should include your perspective, but this is not meant to be an opinion piece; the essay should incorporate material from at least one of the four themes, readings covered in Weeks 1 to 6 readings and showcase real world application in policing. In addition, you should include your own research material both academic and open source. The essay will be evaluated on both the clarity and complexity of your arguments. See Assessment Guidelines: Written Assignments for comprehensive information about the requirements for written assignments.
You may wish to discuss the state of women in policing for example. Or perhaps explore how people of colour traverse their identities in a Canadian society that balances the voices of law (Charter) vs. the realities of the issues in play today. You have so many options! If you want to run an idea by me…do not hesitate.
PLEASE WRITE ABOUT HOW WOMAN IN POLICING HAVE A HARDER TIME THEN MEN AT GETTING RESPECT IN THE WORK FORCE AS WELL AS ANY OTHER CONCEPT RETAINING TO THE THEME THAT YOU MAY THINK IS IMPORTANT
THANK YOU
