The Primary focus is the CANADIAN aboriginal community. I want to highlight their trauma and current struggles, their advocacy efforts, their organization methods (creating self governance, own justice system, off-reserve cultural events and classes to bring back their ways), and reccomdendations for improvement. Below is the outline of my brainstorming;

1)MMIW – how it began, statistics of missing indigenous women per year, and advocacy efforts (2 citations one for how it began, other for stats) 2) Land/reserves being infringed on for oil, trains, fishing (like the incident last year with the fishing in Canada.i believe I can’t remember if it was nova Scotia or BC. But the advocacy around it too (2 citations, one for issue and other for how theyre advocating) 3) statistics of incarcerated aboriginals in Canada 4) stats of their mental health 5)mention of residential schools 6) the treaty and how it’s always infringed on by development 7) lack of infrastructure on reserves and clean water 8) the overall cultural genocide. 9)violence faced like the fishing boat set on fire in nova Scotia.

I would like to link this to the statistics of indigenous incarceration and substance abuse in Canada. Then link that to the cause which is the TRAUMA endured by all the things listed above.

I would then like any articles mentioning how they have created self-governance in Canada (allowed to punish within their own communities now as well). They are uniting to fight organizations like children’s aid who primarily target them. How they have created cultural centers and events specifically meant to bring back their culture for future generations. These will show the success.
