Use the critical article you have chosen to determine your own position and analysis of the story“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, by James Thurber”, and then write a 700-750-word essay in which you analyze the story. Use the article to either compare (show how you hold a similar view) or contrast (show how you have a different view) your analysis of the same story.
In your analysis of the story, you may want to pick a topic to focus on in the story (such as the representations of women, the role of the imagination, the role of family—you get the idea). Stay focused on the topic you are analyzing.
Be sure to use quotations and examples from the story as well as from the article.
A Works Cited list must appear at the end of the essay, and all citations and documentation must be in the MLA style format.
